2 Wall Street
New York City
George Comfort & Sons Inc. |
|
The client wanted to provide an alternate
to the building's historical Wall Street entrance and easier
access to taxis and cars along Broadway.
A new vestibule protects the lobby from winds off the harbor
and a new corridor progresses through a series of ramped spaces
to negotiate a four and one-half foot drop to the main lobby.
Along with the new office entrance, Rosen Johnson opened the building's fortress-like walls to gain retail visibility and reinvigorate street life in this prime location.
