Residential
Complex Master Plan
Corona
New York |
This 5000-unit 1960s-vintage residential
complex on 40 acres was time-worn. Well located to take
advantage of the city’s predicted growth in population
and workers' need to live closer to transit and employment,
its owners wish to reposition the buildings and grounds
as a desirable home for urban middle-class families.
Rosen Johnson Architects prepared a master plan with alternate
upgrades at three levels of investment.
The plan offers concepts for improved building facades,
connective pavilions, retail, landscaping, pedestrian
and vehicular access, parking, security, and other amenities
which would elevate the quality and image of the complex.
A new tower, kiosk, and integrated retail storefronts
create a grand entrance and a new “face” for the complex.
