New York City ● Newmark Grubb Knight Frank
The owner proposes to relocate the building lobby from congested Broadway to the corner of Crosby and Prince Streets. Reorganizing stairways and egress, along with a new elevator on the Crosby Street side, will make this possible. Retail will occupy the repurposed lobby on Broadway.
With the new entrance on Crosby and Prince, the existing infill at each bay will be improved with windows, paneled wood doors, and metal louvers rationally located above existing transom bars. A wide metal-and-glass canopy suspended by cables will extend over the lobby windows and entrance doors, providing shelter in inclement weather. Views into a new lobby, restored pilasters, paneled doors, and coherent details create a welcoming aspect and enliven Crosby Street.
